Itskos Research Group
Research activities in Itskos group focus on studies of functional materials for optoelectronics with emphasis on semiconductor nanocrystals.
Central to the work is the implementation of steady-state and time-resolved spectroscopic techniques to probe the electronic and defect
structure of the studied materials and assess their potential for optoelectonic applications.
The work is performed at the Experimental
Condensed Matter Physics (ECMP) Lab at the Physics Department of the University of Cyprus (UCY).
There are currently no available positions in the group.
The group obtains funding for a Marie-Curie Fellowship (Dr. M. Athanasiou) on nanostructures of III-Nitrides and lead halide perovskite
nanocrystals for lighting applications.
The group leads a Strategic Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation Proposal to produce novel
light harvesting and light emitting structures based on colloidal perovskite nanomaterials.
The group co-organizes the nanoGe International
Conference on Emerging Light Emitting Materials (EMLEM21), from 26 -28 of April 2021 in Limassol (Cyprus).
